Gheba Gets Knockout

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Tamas Lendvai put in a raise to 55,000 from early position and got three callers.

On the {5-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{4-Spades} flop, action checked to Daniyal Gheba on the button. He fired for 125,000. Ruiko Mamiya then moved all in for 420,000. Lendvai and another caller folded before Gheba made the call with Mamiya covered.

Ruiko Mamiya: {6-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}
Daniyal Gheba: {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}

Gheba was ahead, but Mamiya had plenty of outs with an open-ended straight draw and a backdoor flush draw. The {9-Hearts} on the turn took away the flush draw, but gave her a pair with the potential to improve to trips. Instead, the {5-Spades} paired the board, and gave Gheba the better two pair. Gheba scooped the pot while Mamiya was eliminated.
