The tournament attracted a field of 1,359 players, almost doubling that of last year, generating a prize pool of $3,628,530. Plenty of notables took to the felt when play began at 3 p.m. PDT. Phil Hellmuth (349,000), Michael Rocco (390,000), and Alex Foxen (68,000) will all return to play tomorrow. A full list of chip counts and seating assignments will be released shortly.

Not everyone was fortunate enough to make the cut for Day 2. David Peters, Daniel Negreanu, Maria Ho, Justin Bonomo, and Tony Dunst all entered the field but busted before the end of the day.

The 226 players who will contend for the coveted WSOP bracelet return on Friday, July 1st at 2 p.m. PDT in the Ballys silver section. The schedule calls for 60-minute levels and they will play until only five players remain.

The PokerNews team will be back tomorrow to bring you live updates as they make their way towards the final table.
