Michael Smith Eliminated in 5th Place ($206,250)

Level 44 : 2,500,000/5,000,000, 5,000,000 ante
Michael Smith
Michael Smith

After Kevin Hong opened to 10,000,000 from under-the-gun, next to act Michael Smith three-bet to 25,000,000. Hong asked how much Smith had and he responded ''101,000,000'', Hong then just called and they went to a flop.

{8-Spades}{k-Spades}{3-Spades} came down and Hong checked to Smith who fired 16,000,000 into the pot. Hong responded by jamming and Smith snap called as the at risk player for his last 85,000,000.

Michael Smith: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}
Kevin Hong: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

It was a sickening cold deck and cooler for Smith who got out-flopped. He did have two aces he could hit plus any spade to survive but the turn was an {8-Clubs} and river {6-Hearts} to send him to the rail. He cashed for $286,550 plus won two $25,000 mystery jackpots.

Smith Takes From Barzantny

Level 44 : 2,500,000/5,000,000, 5,000,000 ante

Wojciech Barzantny raised to 10,000,000 from the cutoff and in the big blind, Michael Smith defended.

The flop of {a-Spades}{5-Spades}{a-Hearts} saw Smith check-call a bet of 8,000,000 from Barzantny.

The turn of {7-Hearts} checked through to the {k-Clubs} river which saw Smith lead out for 20,000,000 and Barzantny went into the tank. "That's interesting," Barzantny remarked as he pondered his decision. After a little more time he tossed his hand into the muck and Smith won a much needed pot.

Borland Fills Up Against Timmons

Level 43 : Blinds 2,000,000/4,000,000, 4,000,000 ante
Quincy Borland
Quincy Borland

Quincy Borland raised to 12,000,000 in the hijack and in the small blind, David Timmons three-bet to 24,500,000. Action folded back to Borland, who moved all in for 57,500,000, which Timmons snap-called.

Quincy Borland: {k-Spades}{j-Spades}
David Timmons: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

The board ran out {j-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} and Borland's full house was good for the double up and to move up to third in the chip counts.

Hong Takes From Borland

Level 43 : Blinds 2,000,000/4,000,000, 4,000,000 ante

Quincy Borland called in the small blind and in the big blind, Kevin Hong checked his option. The flop came out {a-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{3-Spades} and Borland check-called a bet of 4,000,000 from Hong.

The turn {j-Diamonds} checked through to the {10-Clubs} river, when Borland led out for 8,000,000 and Hong called. Quincy Borland turned over {k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for a pair of tens, but it was no good against {q-Hearts}{j-Spades} for a pair of jacks, which gave Hong the pot and the chip lead.

Nellie Park Eliminated in 6th Place ($159,380)

Level 43 : Blinds 2,000,000/4,000,000, 4,000,000 ante
Nellie Park
Nellie Park

Action folded to Nellie Park in the small blind who moved all in for her last 20,000,000 or so. She was snapped off by Michael Smith in the big blind and cards were tabled.

Nellie Park: {q-Hearts}{9-Clubs}
Michael Smith: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

It was a standard spot for Park but she was desperately unfortunate to run into such a good hand in the big blind and when the board ran out {j-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{8-Spades}, though she did have a gut-shot to a straight going to the river, failed to catch up.

The last women remaining in the tournament is now busted, though Park will pocket $159,380 for her 6th place finish.

Quincy Borland
Quincy Borland

Wojciech Barzantny raised the button to 8,000,000 and Quincy Borland jammed for 27,000,0000. Barzantny called.

Quincy Borland: {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}
Wojciech Barzantny: {q-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}

Barzantny picked up an open-ended straight draw on the {4-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} flop, but the {5-Clubs}{6-Spades} runout was clean for Borland as he doubled.
