With The World Series Of Poker in its final leg, today begins Event #73: $1,500 Razz at Ballys and Paris in Las Vegas, the first of two Razz events occurring this WSOP. The popular stud-game variant has been a staple of the WSOP for decades and this year sees the two tournaments placed back-to back near the end of the series.

Last year saw Brad Ruben defeat Charles Sinn heads up, as well as 309 other entrants to take down his third WSOP bracelet for $99,188. With Ruben already having won his fourth bracelet this year, he will likely be playing this event to chase his player of the year prospects.

Other players likely to dazzle this event with their presence include defending WSOP POY Josh Arieh, Jake Schwartz, Daniel Negreanu, and all-time WSOP Razz earnings winner Phil Hellmuth, who has won two bracelets in Razz in the past.

The tournament will begin 25,000 starting stack with a 300 button ante, and a 100 bring in to a 200 completion. The limits will begin with 200/400 with the blinds going up once every 40 minutes. Registration will close at Level 9 around 9:45 A 15-minute break will occur after every three levels with players playing a full 15 levels for Day 1 before bagging up for Day 2.
