It is almost time for Event #81: $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em Freezeout 8-Handed to get underway at 3 p.m. local time. This is always one of the most interesting events of the summer as it will attract a strong field of players looking to cap off their WSOP in style. The freezeout format also creates a compelling dynamic as things are serious from the start of play.

Last year's version of this event drew 491 entries which created a prize pool of $1,491,863. The player on top at the end to win his first bracelet was Alexandre Reard of France who won $428,694 for his efforts. He defeated Daniel Strelitz heads-up to conquer a final table that included Ren Lin and Conrad Simpson.
