Jaffee Off To Great Start

Level 6 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante
Jared Jaffee
Jared Jaffee

Picking up the action after the flop, Jared Jaffee in the small blind was involved in a hand with Alex Jim from early position. With the board reading {8-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{7-Hearts} Jaffee checked and then called a bet of 6,600 from Jim.

Both players checked through the {2-Hearts} turn to the {8-Spades} river where Jaffee, fingering his chips in thought, eventually tossed out a bet of 22,200. Jim called only to see Jaffee pound his {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts} (flush) holding down onto the table as Jim released his own hand into the muck.

Jim appeared to have been sucked out on, the result being that after grinding his way up to 83,800 on Day 1, Jim has blown through half of his chips early in the first level of play. Jaffee, meanwhile, who did not have a hard time garnering momentum on Day 1, has continued to grow his already juicy stack.
