Weis Dodges Everything to Double

Level 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Karim Rebei in the cutoff called a 160,000 raise before the flop as action folded around to Oliver Weis in the small blind. Weis shoved for 2,500,000, the original raiser folded, and Rebei went into the tank.

Rebei asked for a confirmation of the total before calling after several minutes. He showed {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} and was up against Weis' {a-Clubs}{10-Hearts}.

A collective gasp arose from the table as the flop came {3-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}, giving Weis top pair but Rebei a flush draw to go along with his two over cards. The {4-Spades} on the turn was safe for Weis and he secured the double up when the {6-Clubs} fell on the river.

"Yes," he yelled as the pot was pushed in his direction.

"How did you feel after the flop," a tablemate asked.

"I mean, it is what it is," Weis replied.

"You saw what he felt. He went oof," Rebei added, taking the hit to his stack in stride. "I'm a calling station."
