Engel Jams Into Dirksen Right Before Dinner

Level 21
Ari Engel
Ari Engel

Big O

Two minor pots in Big O brought no chip movements before Ari Engel then limped in from the small blind. Dustin Dirksen raised to 60,000 and Engel came along to the J?8?6? flop, which both checked. On the 10? turn, Engel checked and Dirksen bet the pot for 140,000, which came with a reluctant call from Engel.

They headed to the 4? river and Engel moved all-in for around 335,000. "Bad river, bad river," Dirksen sighed and folded.

Big O

Zack Freeman chose Big O and Dustin Dirksen wasted no time opening to 60,000 from the cutoff as Marco Johnson called on the button.

The flop landed 4?K?6? and Dirksen bet pot for 170,000 to send Johnson into the tank.

"You got it," Johnson said as he folded.

Eveslage Trending Up

Level 21

Badacey

Marco Johnson selected Badacey when it was his turn and Dutch Boyd then raised. Chad Eveslage defended the big blind. Eveslage discarded three versus one and check-called a bet. Eveslage discarded two versus one on the second draw and they checked to the final draw, on which each took one.

Eveslage bet and Boyd double-checked his cards before folding.

"And he is back," Johnson grinned.

In the very next hand, Johnson raised and Eveslage called out of the small blind. "Oh no," Johnson grimaced. Boyd also stuck around as the first draw then came around. Eveslage took two, Boyd one and Johnson trey as he joked "I take a detour".

Eveslage bet and Boyd raised, forcing out Johnson while the chip leader called. On the final two draws, they took one each and Eveslage's bets were called down by Boyd.

"Seven Badugi and a pair of sevens," Eveslage declared and showed the 7? / 7?4?3?2?. Boyd had the J? / 8?5?2?A? for a worse Badugi but jack-eight and they chopped.

Johnson Makes Broadway to Double Through Freeman

Level 21
Marco Johnson
Marco Johnson

Pot-Limit Omaha 8 or Better

Marco Johnson opened to 70,000 in the cutoff before Zack Freeman potted on the button. Johnson four-bet all in and Freeman called with a bigger stack.

Marco Johnson: A?A?Q?Q?
Zack Freeman: A?10?3?2?

The flop landed J?10?2? to give Freeman the lead with two pair and the 7? turn gave him a nut low draw to go with it. Unfortunately for him, the K? peeled off on the river to give Johnson Broadway to scoop the pot and double up.

"I knew any paint was good," Johnson said after seeing the river card.

Dirksen Chips Up; Eveslage Adds Some Chips

Level 21
Dustin Dirksen
Dustin Dirksen

Pot-Limit Omaha 8 or Better

Picking up the action on the Q?9?3? flop, Dustin Dirksen in the small blind check-called a bet of 125,000 bet by Dutch Boyd. They checked the 4? on the turn and the J? fell on the river. Dirksen checked quickly once more and Boyd bet 125,000 for Dirksen to call.

Boyd revealed his K?J?J?10x for a straight but Dirksen won the pot with the A?Q?J?8? for a flush.

Marco Johnson mulled over the hand after and pointed out that Boyd had two jacks in the hand. "Wow, I am not supposed to win that one," Dirksen was rather stunned.

Chad Eveslage then raised to 60,000 and was called by Ari Engel in the cutoff, Marco Johnson called in the small blind as well.

The K?6?5? flop was checked to Eveslage, who bet 220,000 and forced two folds.

Big PLO 8 Pot Ends in a Chop

Level 21

Pot-Limit Omaha 8 or Better

Chad Eveslage opened to 60,000 from the cutoff and Dutch Boyd three-bet to 160,000 on the button. Eveslage called.

Eveslage checked on the K?4?10? flop and Boyd checked back. Eveslage then potted for 370,000 on the 2? turn and Boyd thought for several minutes before calling.

The 8? river completed the board and Eveslage took a moment before announcing pot as Boyd quickly called. Eveslage tabled A?8?4?2? for eights and deuces and his opponent showed A?J?3?3? for the nut low to chop up the pot.

Mike Gorodinsky Eliminated in 7th Place ($42,965)

Level 21
Mike Gorodinsky
Mike Gorodinsky

No-Limit 2-7 Single Draw

Chad Eveslage made it 55,000 to go on the button and Dutch Boyd three-bet to 200,000 in the small blind. Mike Gorodinsky then four-bet jammed for more than 500,000 and Eveslage folded while Boyd called very quickly.

Boyd patted and the same applied for Gorodinsky as well.

Boyd rolled over the 9x7x6x3x2x and Gorodinsky nodded, exposing his slightly inferior 9x8x7x3x2x before heading to the payout desk. The runner-up of the previous year in this event finishes in 7th place for $42,965.

Gorodinsky Gets a Shove Through

Level 21

Pot-Limit 2-7 Triple Draw

Chad Eveslage raised to 60,000 first to act and Zack Freeman defended the big blind. Freeman discarded two versus trey and they checked to the second draw. Both took two new cards this time and Freeman check-folded to a bet of 125,000.

No-Limit 2-7 Single Draw

The game variant changed and Mike Gorodinsky opened to 55,000 in the second hand. Marco Johnson eyeballed his stack and then called in the cutoff. Both discarded one and Gorodinsky then jammed for what appeared to be around 335,000, forcing a fold from Johnson.

Eveslage Can't Be Stopped

Level 21

Pot-Limit 2-7 Triple Draw

Chad Eveslage has continued his dominant heater after his massive double-up through Dustin Dirksen in a no-limit Hold'em hand.

After switching to pot-limit 2-7 triple draw, Eveslage raised and took two pots before raising to 60,000 from the hijack and getting called by Mike Gorodinsky on the button. Eveslage drew three and Gorodinsky drew two before both players checked and drew two.

Both players checked again and Eveslage drew two while Gorodinsky drew one. Eveslage potted after the final draw and Gorodinsky made a reluctant call.

"Eight," Eveslage announced as he showed 8?7?4?3?2? to win the pot.
