Benny Glaser Leads Ten Players into the Final Day of $10,000 2-7 Triple Draw Championship
Day 2 of Event #38: $10,000 Limit 2-7 Triple Draw Championship at the 2023 World Series of Poker is over and Benny Glaser is the one at the top of the leaderboard.
Glaser leads a field of ten into the final day of the championship and he looks to add his name to the increasingly prestigious list of players that have won their fifth bracelet.
The tournament drew a field of 130 players and the prize pool of $1,209,000 will go to the top 20 finishers. The grand prize is $311,428 and all ten returning players are guaranteed $25,822.
At Glaser��s heels is Finnish poker player Sampo Ryynanen. Ryynanen��s previous best WSOP effort was a runner-up finish in the 2018 $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha tournament. The other player above the one million mark is Joao Vieira. Vieira has two WSOP titles and several strong finishes across all poker variants, but this could be his first bracelet outside of no-limit hold��em.
Jason Papastavrou and David ��Bakes�� Baker rounded out the top five bags at the end of the evening. Papastavrou ran to 12th in the $1,500 version of this event in 2012 �� a tournament that Baker won. Baker returns on Saturday in search of his fourth bracelet.

Day 2 Highlights
As usual, the Limit 2-7 Triple Draw Championship attracted poker��s best players and the Day 2 field saw a large crop of late entries jump into the mix. More than half of the 70 players that kicked off the second day had previously won a WSOP bracelet, and five of the final ten players have one or more titles.
Early exits included Greg Mueller, Max Kruse, and Patrick Leonard. Phil Hellmuth bowed out around mid-day, along with the likes of Eli Elezra, Erik Seidel, and Ryan Leng.
None of the top ten chip counts from Day 1 found their way to Day 3. Tommy Hang and Taylor Wilson held on the longest from that top ten with 11th and 14th place finishes, respectively.
Mike Matusow also had an impressive finish in 12th place after he built a strong chip stack throughout the early levels of the day. He caught a great deal of bad luck in the closing stages of the night, but he still walked away with $20,425 and another display of consistency in $10,000 fields.
Daniel Negreanu was another top player that had a strong showing with his 13th place finish. Negreanu needed some help on his opponent��s final draw to stay in the tournament, but Alexander Wilkinson made a nine-six to beat the six-time champ��s jack-eight and send him home before Day 3.
Other players that cashed include Terrence Chan, Louis Abronson, Jason Lipiner, Ralph Perry, John Monnette and Allen Kessler.
The rest of Saturday��s ten returning players are Michael Rodrigues, Julien Martini, Oscar Johansson, George Alexander, and the short stack Alexander Wilkinson.
Rodrigues already has one bracelet in 2023 after he became the first-ever Badugi champion earlier in the series. Martini is yet another player with a shot at the five-timers club, while Johansson, Alexander, and Wilkinson are all looking for their first title.
Players will return in Level 18 with blinds at 10,000/20,000 and limits of 20,000/40,000. Levels will remain 90 minutes long and the plan is to play down to a winner on Day 3.
