Xuming Qi Surges to Chip Lead on Day 3 of Event #39: $1,500 Monster Stack
Day 3 of Event #39: $1,500 Monster Stack at the 2023 World Series of Poker is in the books, and it��s Xuming Qi leading the pack after bagging an impressive 24,300,000.
Qi, who started Day 3 as a short stack with 725,000, emerged as the day wore on, continued to amass chips, and became one of three players to total 20,000,000 or more. The other two are Marcos Exterkotter (23,575,000), and Steven Snyder (21,275,000).

The day began with 389 remaining players out of 8,317 entrants and just 43 will advance to Day 4.
The Day 3 field was full of star power, including a Poker Hall of Famer in Barry Greenstein and multiple WSOP bracelet winners, such as Jesse Rockowitz, Joe Cada, Jared Jaffee, Gershon Distenfeld, Arash Ghaneian, David Jackson and Niall Farrell, among others.
Of the group, only Cada (8,950,000), Ghanenian (6,575,000), and Rockowitz (2,250,000) remain to keep dreams alive for another coveted bracelet.
The path, however, won��t be easy because any player can take down the tournament, evidenced by Qi��s emergence from a short stack to start the day to chip leader heading into Day 4.
Qi and the remaining participants are scheduled to return at noon local time on Tuesday for Day 4 at Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas, with Level 32 blinds of 150,000/250,000 and a 250,000 ante.
Players will have a 15-minute break every two levels and will play down to a winner who will received the coveted WSOP bracelet and a $1,162,681 first-place prize.
