Inaugural $1,500 Big O Tournament Starts at 2 PM
Welcome to Day 1 of Event #41: $1,500 Big O at the 2023 World Series of Poker here at Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas.
This is a highly anticipated tournament on the schedule, as it marks the debut appearance of a standalone Big O event at the WSOP. Along with the money and the bracelet, the winner will go down in history as the events inaugural champion.
For those unfamiliar with the game of Big O, it is five-card pot-limit Omaha hi-lo split, 8-or-better. A handy PokerNews primer can be found here.
Omaha hi-lo has proved to be a popular variant at this years WSOP, with Ben Lamb and Jim Collopy already claiming bracelets in the discipline. So expect to see a big field with plenty of familiar names.
The event starts at 2:00 p.m. local time. Players will begin with 25,000 in chips at blinds of 100/100 and a 100 big blind ante. Day 1 will consist of 15 40-minute levels, with 15-minute breaks after every third level. Late registration is available until the start of Level 10 (approximately 8:45 p.m.).
