Starostin Up Early After Four-bet Pot
A player in the hijack raised to 500 and was three-bet to 1,800 by Ivan Starostin on the button. A player in the big blind four-bet to 6,000, folding out the original raiser in the hijack. Starostin made the call and the players were heads up with 12,300 in the pot in the very first hand of the tournament.
Both players checked the 9?8?5? flop leading to the 6? on the turn. The player in the big blind check-called an 8,000 bet from Starostin.
The river was the 4? and the player in the big blind checked again. Starostin fired a bet of 22,000, sending his opponent deep into the tank.
After about two minutes, the clock was called and the player in the big blind folded soon after, resulting in Starostin taking down a nice pot in his first hand of play.
