Play has drawn to a conclusion on Day 2 of Event #59: $3,000 No-Limit Hold'em Freezeout at the 2023 World Series of Poker.

Barak Wisbrod will be very happy with his day’s work, as he sits on 6,400,000 in chips and the chip lead. Hot on his heels are Ilija Savevski (5,435,000) and Kenny Smith (5,170,000).

Wisbrod has cashed three times at the 2023 WSOP, including a third-place finish in the $10,000 No-Limit Hold'em Secret Bounty event, a result that came with $323,181, the largest score of the Israeli's live career. He is now only 18 eliminations away from capturing his second gold bracelet and a new career-high score of $672,275.

Through ten 60-minute levels, the field was whittled down from 240 players at the start of the morning to just 19, who will return for a shot at the $675,275 prize for first place when the event plays down to a winner on Day 3.

Two notable players who will be eyeing first place keenly are Brock Wilson (2,850,000) and Dario Sammartino (2,575,000). Both Wilson and Sammartino are regulars in the high-stakes tournament world. Wilson has almost $6.5 million in live earnings, while Sammartino tops Italy's all-time money list with more than $15.9 million in winnings.

Some famous faces who didn’t manage to make it to a third day include Niall Farrell, Dimitar Danchev, and Angela Jordison – who fell in 21st place, shortly before play was suspended for the evening.

Day 3 will commence at 12:00 p.m. local time (not 10 a.m. as previously advertised), on June 28, and the tournament will play down to a winner.

Play resumes at Level 28, with blinds of 60,000/120,000 and a 120,000 big blind ante. Levels will be 60 minutes in length, with a 15-minute break after every two levels, and a possible dinner break to be determined.
