Schindler Wins the Battle of the Eights
Eddie Blumenthal: XxXx/7? - folded third street
David Rheem: XxXx/8?A?J?4?/Xx
Andres Korn: XxXx/8?7? - folded fourth street
Maximilian Schindler: XxXx/8?J?5?7?/Xx
Eddie Blumenthal brought it in and David Rheem completed with an eight up. Andres Korn called with his eight, while Schindler made it two bets with an eight as his own upcard. Blumenthal got out of the way and Rheem and Korn called as all three players had the same upcard on third street.
On fourth street, Rheem bet out when he hit an ace. Korn folded and Schindler called. Fifth street saw another bet from Rheem and once more Schindler made the call. Sixth street then went check-check before Rheem check-folded seventh to Schindler's bet.
"Did you have a pair?" Rheem asked afterwards.
"No I had a worse ace-high than you," Schindler responded, as he stacked up his newly acquired chips.
