Negreanu Sent to the Exit in Massive Three-Way All In

Level 22 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

Daniel Negreanu raised to 50,000 from early position and Giuseppe Maggisano called to his direct left before Antonio Gonzalez three-bet jammed from the cutoff.

Action folded back to Negreanu who didn't waste time in announcing pot, amounting to a four-bet worth 575,000. Maggisano was quick in his action as well as he decided to announce a pot-sized five-bet to commit the rest of Negreanu's chips.

Negreanu immediately grabbed his vlog camera and said, "Oops" as he made the call to create a massive three-handed runout with both Gonzalez and Negreanu at risk.

Antonio Gonzalez: A?K?Q?2?
Daniel Negreanu: 8?7?6?4?
Giuseppe Maggisano: A?K?Q?10?

Negreanu had assumed that Maggisano had flatted with aces so was very pleased to see how live he was even though his hearts were dead.

The dealer knocked the table and put out a 9?3?9? flop which was no good for Negreanu's hand.

The 9? turn meant that Negreanu was drawing dead and Gonzalez would need to avoid spades on the river to chop but when the 4? completed the board, both Gonzalez and Negreanu were sent to the rail on the same hand as Maggisano won a massive pot that moved him toward the top of the counts.

William Abercrombie: K?K?J?J?
Ryan Coon: A?A?10?9?

The board ran out 8?6?2?Q?3?, changing nothing and ending Abercrombie's tournament.

Schwartz Comes Out on Top in Huge Pre-Flop All In

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Action folded to Noah Schwartz on the button who raised to 55,000 only to see Alexander Stewart three-bet from the big blind to 175,000.

Schwartz entered the tank and counted out his chips as he thought through his action. After a couple of minutes, he jokingly said to the dealer, "It's a bounty tournament, right?" before deciding to slide his chips forward for a four-bet all in worth around 340,000.

Stewart quickly called to put Schwartz at risk and headed to a runout.

Noah Schwartz: J?J?10?10?
Alexander Stewart: A?K?7?7?

Schwartz was ahead going to the flop and when it came down 4?J?K?, he found himself in an ever bigger lead over Stewart.

The 2? turn meant that Stewart was drawing dead going to the inconsequential Q? river as Schwartz secured a full double to move up in the counts.

Negreanu Continues to Grow His Stack

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

Daniel Negreanu raised from early position to 40,000 and faced a pot-sized three-bet of 144,000 from Antonio Gonzalez. Negreanu called to see the J?5?3? flop.

Negreanu checked over to Gonzalez who continued with a bet of 175,000. Negreanu checked his cards and thought briefly before grabbing half a million in 25,000 chips and moving them forward while saying "pot."

Gonzalez entered a short tank and after about 60 seconds of thought, released his cards into the muck.

Negreanu responded by saying, "You were pretty dead" as he put his vlog camera away, collected the pot and continued to chip up.

Phil Hellmuth Coolered Out of WSOP Main Event by Nicholas "Dirty Diaper" Rigby

Level 19 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Phil Hellmuth
Phil Hellmuth

Phil Hellmuth will not be the winner of the 2023 Word Series of Poker Main Event as the all-time leading bracelet winner was eliminated around an hour ago on Day 2d.

The player to send 'The Poker Brat' to the rail was Nicholas "Dirty Diaper" Rigby, who rose to fame in the poker community in the 2021 Main Event after getting into the mix several times with 3x2x.

Hellmuth, who won the Main Event in 1989, has failed to make the money in poker's crown jewel tournament for the last eight years. His last Main Event cash came in 2015, where he finished in 417th for $21,786.

Fortunes Change; Madsen Chips Up

Level 19 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Jeff Madsen
Jeff Madsen

Kalan Roberts put the last of his chips in on a flop reading 5?7?J? and was called by Jeff Madsen. It looked like something close to a flip.

Kalan Roberts: Q?J?10?7?
Jeff Madsen: A?A?6?8?

Roberts had flopped two pair to pull slightly ahead of Madsen's aces. Madsen had his danglers working for him, though, and had an open-ended straight draw. The turn brought the 3?, which was no help but Madsen got there when the 4? hit, making him the eight-high straight.
