Haven Werner

On the turn of J?6?5?3?, Haven Werner led for 3,500 into her two opponents and only Patrick McDaniel made the call next to act.

Smith Shafts Schaffer on River

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

On a heads-up completed board of 10?2?Q?3?K?, Dusti Smith led out for 4,500 and her opponent, Brian Schaffer, went into the tank.

"I know I'm in second place, but I have to call," he said eventually as he threw in the chips.

Smith then showed him J?9? for a rivered straight and he nodded his head as if he already knew and he tossed 2?2? into the muck.

Not the Best of Starts for Botfeld

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Amanda Botfeld was sitting in early position and made a raise to 500. Ignacio Sole was in the cutoff and made the call and the two went off to a flop.

On 9?Q?3?, Botfeld continued for 300 and Sole made the call. The turn then fell the K? and Botfeld made a big bet of 1,400, again receiving a call from Sole.

The river was the Q? and Botfeld checked, followed by a quick check behind from Sole.

"Ace-high," Botfeld announced, tabling A?8?. Sole showed his J?J? and his hooks reeled in the pot.

Early Nice Pot For Richez

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

A player limped in middle position, as did another player in the cutoff. In the small blind, Clement Richez raised to 1,100. The first limper called, but the big blind and the second limper folded.

On 3?A?4?, Richez continued to 1,500. He was called a first time, then a second time for 5,000 chips on the turn 8?.

The Q? landed on the river and Richez fired a third barrel of 8,000. This time it was too much for his opponent, who folded.

Koon Runs into Full House

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante
Jason Koon
Jason Koon

The turn read Q?J?10?3? and Bogdan Tudor checked to Jason Koon who put out a pot-sized bet of 8,000. Tudor went into the tank for about 30 seconds before making the call.

The 10? paired the board on the river and Tudor checked. Koon said, "That wasn't the one I was looking for," before checking back himself.

Tudor gave Koon a look to open first and Koon said, "That's not how this works."

Turdor opened J?J? for a full house and Koon mucked his hand, while claiming to have missed the nut flush draw.

Brutal Turn Leaves Buckner Reeling

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

David Berman raised to 600 from under the gun and was called by Steven Buckner from early position, the player in the cutoff, and both players in the blinds.

The flop came 3?A?8? and action checked to Berman, who continued for 1,200. Buckner and the small blind called.

Action checked to Buckner on the 6? turn and he fired 9,000 into the middle. Only Berman called.

Berman checked to Buckner once more when the 2? completed the board and he bombed 21,000 into the middle. Berman quickly called and Buckner tabled 8?6? for two pair. It was no good, however, against the 8?8? of Berman for a set of eights.

"What a brutal turn," Buckner fumed as Berman collected the pot.

Hallay Gets Above Starting

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Axel Hallay was involved in a pot of 3,500 chips against the neighbor on his left. Hallay was in the cutoff and checked to his opponent on the button, who bet 2,500 chips thereafter, on a board that read 2?3?Q?A?. Hallay made the call and the 9? river completed the board.

Hallay now elected to lead out for 3,000, eventually receiving a reluctant call from his opponent.

"I've got an ace," the latter claimed, but the cards would hit the muck as soon as Hallay tabled his A?J?.

King-High Call Down

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante
Paul Serrate
Paul Serrate

Action made it to Paul Serrate in early position who opened to 600. The hijack called and the small blind called.

The 3?8?3? flop hit the felt and action checked to the hijack who put out a bet of 1,500. The small blind folded but Serrate called.

Action checked through on the 5? turn and the 8? landed on the river. Serrate checked again and the hijack player put out a sizable bet of 5,400.

Serrate only went into the tank for a moment before he called. The other player didn't show after Serrate tabled K?Q? for just king-high and scooped the pot.
