Daniel Vampan's run to the top of the chip leaderboard just encountered some resistance at the hands of Tamas Lendvai.
Heads-up on a board of 5?2?Q?5?, Vampan bet 1,500 from the small blind and Lendvai called in middle position.
The river came the K? and Vampan now checked. Lendvai fired out 3,000 and Vampan called, only to be showed A?K? for a rivered two pair that was good enough to win the pot.
The player first-to-act raised to 1,100 and Nai Hu flatted from the cutoff. The players on the button and small bind called as well, but then Kane Kalas squeezed to 5,600 from the big blind.
The initial raiser folded and Hu then back-raised to 17,300. It was folded back to Kalas and he announced he was all in for around 50,000 total. Nai called to put Kalas at risk and hands were revealed.
Kane Kalas: J?J?
Nai Hu: Q?Q?
Kalas was in trouble with his jacks, and the 3?4?5?K?5? runout provided no help to Kalas, who was eliminated late in the evening.
Giovanni Zanette opened to 1,100 and the cutoff three-bet to 3,300, which was called by Anthony Russo and Zanette.
It checked to the cutoff on the flop 7?J?3?, who continued for 2,700. Only Russo made the call this time.
Russo check-called again for 3,800 on the A? turn and a 10? hit the river. Both players checked. Russo tabled A?K? for top pair and the cutoff quickly mucked his cards.
Middle position called and Safwane Bahri bet 1,100 from the small blind. The big blind folded and middle position called to the flop.
The flop came 3?6?J?, and Bahri was quick to check to his opponent. They led out for 1,300, and Bahri found the call.
While the A? peeled off on the turn, both players checked around.
The river was the 7?, and Bahri again checked. His opponent led out for 3,000, while Bahri three bet to 10,000. His opponent folded for him to scoop the pot.
"This is the one, this is going to be a good one," Derek Normand said as he called PokerNews over before the hand even started. "Just make it known that I have singlehandedly gotten the table drunk."
The action began with a preflop raise from Scott Harrison to 3,800 and Normand made the call out-of-position to see a flop of 2?4?J?.
Normand checked to Harrison who continued for 5,000 and Normand snap-called to see the K? on the turn.
Harrison then upped his bet to 10,000 and Normand check-called once more to see the 5? fall on the river.
Normand checked again to Harrison who tossed out the same bet of 10,000 and this time Normand paused to think about it for a bit. After a good thirty seconds, he tossed in the chips for a call and was then shown K?K? for a turned top-set of kings.
"Wow, did you even know that the club hit? Did you even see it? Or did you just not care.." Normand mucked his cards as the substantial pot was pushed over to Harrison.
"Any three-year-old can play kings," he shook his head at Harrison, who responded with, "Not every three-year-old can get value like that."
A player from early position raised to 1,200 and a late position player and the button, Jason Abelkop and the big blind all came along for the ride. The flop was 9?2?5? and the big blind checked, the early position player bet 3,000 and Abelkop raised to 6,500. The big blind called and the early position player bowed out of the action.
The turn was the K? and both players checked.
On the river 10? Abelkop placed a bet of 3,700 and the big blind went into the think tank and folded.
The board 6?4?K?4?A? was already dealt with around 23,000 in the middle. Javier Garcirreynaldos checked to Sergio Aido who bet 14,000. Garcirreynaldos went deep into the tank and ended up sending a chip for the call.
Aido flipped ober A?8? for the nut flush and Garcirreynaldos mucked his cards.
Players have been sent on their last 20-minute break of the day. Action hasn't slowed since dinner with many chips moving across all tables as we've seen...
