Begni Takes One from Ivey

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

A player in middle position raised to 500 and Phil Ivey called next to act before Roberto Begni called in the big blind.

When the dealer spread a flop of 10?8?7?, Begni check-called a bet of 1,000 from Ivey, while the preflop raiser check-folded.

The 9? hit the turn and Begni took the lead, firing 2,000 into the middle. Ivey called.

When the K? completed the board, Begni tossed in a bet of 7,000, and Ivey only took a couple of seconds before giving his cards back to the dealer.

With around 17,000 in the pot on a board of 9?5?4?3?, Vasili Firsau threw in a green 25,000 chip from the small blind.

Action was on an opponent in early position and he immediately shoved his last 15,000 in the middle and turned over 6?6?. Virsau, though, had Q?Q?. The all-in player was looking for help on the river but none arrived as the dealer turned over the A?, sending him crashing out of the Main Event on Level 1.

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante
Blair Hinkle
Blair Hinkle

Blair Hinkle raised to 600 from under the gun and was three-bet to 1,500 by the player directly behind him. The player in the big blind called cold and Hinkle called as well.

The big blind led out for 5,000 on the J?3?6? flop and only Hinkle called.

The turn brought the 5? and Hinkle's opponent bet again, this time for 10,000. Hinkle again called.

The big blind bet 15,000 when the 4? completed the board and Hinkle raised to 38,000. Hinkle's opponent agonized for a bit before deciding to call and Hinkle turned over 9?7? for a flopped flush draw turned runner-runner straight.

Hinkle's opponent couldn't beat it and mucked, conceding the monster pot to Hinkle.

Lu Takes it Down

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Action folded to the cutoff who raised to 500 only to see Jian Lu toss in a three-bet to 2,000. The cutoff called to bring out the 5?6?4? flop.

Action checked through and the dealer burned and turned the J?.

The cutoff checked and Lu put out a bet of 1,500. The cutoff didn't waste much time before calling and seeing the A? fall on the river.

The cutoff checked once more and watched as Lu tossed out a single 5,000 chip. The bet was good enough to get a fold out of the cutoff and Lu collected the pot.
