Emmett Wins a Hand for PokerNews

Level 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante
Randall Emmett
Randall Emmett

"I'm playing this only because PokerNews is watching" said Randall Emmet before opening under the gun to 1,500. He picked up calls by the two players next to him and the button.

The flop revealed A?6?3? and Emmett continued to bet for 1,500, commenting "I need to do it because PokerNews is writing the hand!" . Once again, his three opponents called.

On the K? turn, Emmett sent 7,000 in the middle and it was enough to make his opponents fold and win the pot.

"Watch this" said Emmett before tabling K?3? for two pair. "Finally I'll be on PokerNews when I'm winning hand!" added he jokingly.

Lafaye Finds a Miracle Double

Anas Benohod
Anas Benohod

Glenn Lafaye and Anas Benohod built a pot of around 20,000 heading to the 7?K?8? flop when Lafaye bet 7,000 from the hijack. Benohod instantly moved a stack of chips forward for a raise, and Lafaye snap-called for his last 39,300.

Glenn Lafaye: A?K?
Anas Benohod: A?A?

Lafaye had flopped top pair but was in bad shape against Benohod's aces. The turn, though, came the K? and Lafaye made trips to take the lead.

Benohod now needed to hit the last remaining ace in the deck but couldn't find it on the 7? river as Lafaye doubled up.

On a three-way flop of 2?7?K?, Stephen Bartlett and Jack 'Bitty' Bittker checked from the big blind and early positon, and the middle position player then bet 1,600.

Both Bartlett and Bittker both called and the trio went to the turn 6?, where everyone checked.

On the river 8?, Bartlett led out for 4,500 and Bittker thought for a few seconds before making the call and the other player quickly folded.

Bartlett then flipped over A?7? for a pair of sevens but then Bittker revealed K?J? for top pair to take down the sizeable pot.

"The One"

Level 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante
Derek Normand
Derek Normand

"This is the one, this is going to be a good one," Derek Normand said as he called PokerNews over before the hand even started. "Just make it known that I have singlehandedly gotten the table drunk."

The action began with a preflop raise from Scott Harrison to 3,800 and Normand made the call out-of-position to see a flop of 2?4?J?.

Normand checked to Harrison who continued for 5,000 and Normand snap-called to see the K? on the turn.

Harrison then upped his bet to 10,000 and Normand check-called once more to see the 5? fall on the river.

Normand checked again to Harrison who tossed out the same bet of 10,000 and this time Normand paused to think about it for a bit. After a good thirty seconds, he tossed in the chips for a call and was then shown K?K? for a turned top-set of kings.

"Wow, did you even know that the club hit? Did you even see it? Or did you just not care.." Normand mucked his cards as the substantial pot was pushed over to Harrison.

"Any three-year-old can play kings," he shook his head at Harrison, who responded with, "Not every three-year-old can get value like that."

Jamie Smith

Jamie Smith raised under the gun to 1,300 and the button called, as well as Katie Swift in the small blind before Alexander Greenblatt three-bet to 6,000 in the big blind. Smith called, and the other two players got out of the way.

The dealer fanned a flop of A?Q?6?, and Greenblatt continued for 6,000. Smith thought about it for about 10 seconds before folding his K?K? face up. Greenblatt didn't let him know if it was a good fold or not as he pitched his cards into the muck.
