Heizman Doubles with the Better Kicker

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Michael Farris and Stefan Heizman had arrived on the turn, on a board that read 5?A?A?6?. With around 20,000 already in the middle Farris bet out of 11,500. Heizman then raised all in for 37,200.

"I knew this would happen," sighed Farris. After asking for an exact count, he put in the calling chips and both players showed their cards.

Stefan Heizman: A?Q?
Michael Farris: A?10?

Both players flopped trip aces, but the at-risk Heizman was the one with the better kicker. No ten or chop for Farris came on the 4? river and Heizman doubled up after some rough first levels.

A player in early position raised to 2,500 and the action folded around to John Cynn in the big blind. He paused for about 20 seconds before deciding to three-bet to 7,500. The original raiser jammed for about 40,000 and Cynn snap-called.

Early position: 10?10?
