Tan Chips Up

Level 6 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Edward Tan limped in the small blind before Scott Hempel checked his option in the big blind.

Tan checked on the 2?8?K? flop and then called after Hempel led out for 800.

Action checked through the 2? turn to the Q? river at which point Tan announced a bet of 1,200. Hempel wasted little time in folding to keep Tan, a WSOP circuit ring winner, chipping up.

Level 6 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Ari Engel opened the action to 2,000 from under the gun and it folded to Felipe Espitia who three-bet to 6,400 on the button. The blinds folded and Engel made the call.

The flop came 9?6?4? and Engel check-called a bet of 5,600 from Espitia. On the K? turn Engel checked a second time and Espitia sized to 13,000, which Engel called.

The 5? completed the board and Engel checked again. Espitia took a few seconds before announcing all in for 36,400 and Engel went deep in the tank. After close to two minutes, Engel folded and the pot was sent to Espitia without showdown.

Lengthy Hand Doesn't Get Past the Flop

Level 6 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

A player in early position raised to 2,000 and was called by Francisco Pinho Correia and Brandon Shack-Harris before Takumi Odani, in the cutoff, three-bet to 7,200.

The original raiser tanked for nearly a minute before folding, but Correia and Shack-Harris came along to the 8?7?A? flop. Both players checked to Odani.

Odani fired out another 5,200 and Correia tanked for several minutes before emerging with a raise to 14,500. Shack-Harris quickly got out of the way, but then Odani began tanking.

Nearly five minutes went off the clock as Odani sat back in his seat, his hands in his pockets, as he considered the decision before mucking.
