Rigby Passes One Million

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Nicholas Rigby
Nicholas Rigby

A player limped in from under the gun and the small blind limped behind. Nicholas Rigby checked from the big blind.

The flop came 4?2?3?. The small blind checked, Rigby bet 10,000 and the early position player called. The small blind opted to fold.

On the 4? turn Rigby bet again, this time for 30,000, forcing a fold from his opponent and taking down another pot.

Rigby has been winning the majority of the pots at his table and now sits at well over 1,000,000 chips.

Meanwhile at another table, previous main event winner Damian Salas has been eliminated from the tournament.

Magnus Makes Broadway

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Nadya Magnus was heads-up from middle position against Brian Harper, who was in the small blind, on a flop of 3?A?Q?. Harper check-called a 6,000 bet from Magnus and both players checked on the 5? turn.

The 10? completed the board and Magnus overbet the pot for 35,000. Harper looked her up and Magnus tabled K?J? for a rivered Broadway straight. Harper mucked upon seeing the nuts and Magnus collected the pot.

Qiu on Wrong End of Cooler

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Picking up the action on the river, Chang Qiu from under the gun was involved in a hand with Wayne Nicholsen in the big blind. With the board reading Q?7?Q?3?3?, Nicholsen checked. Qiu counted out a bet of 31,000, leaving herself not much more behind. Nicholsen responded by raising to 71,000, enough to force his opponent all in.

After some thought Qiu, called off for her tournament life, turning over A?Q? for the full house. It was no good, however, as Nicholsen held Q?7? for the better boat to send Qiu to the rail in brutal fashion.

Elsewhere, another former WSOP Main Event champion bit the dust as Joe McKeehen was seen exiting the tournament area.

"Bags" Looking to Bag Big

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
John Bagosy
John Bagosy

John "Bags" Bagosy finds himself with one of the bigger stacks in the tournament so far, and he spoke with PokerNews about a big pot that he recently won.

According to Bagosy, he raised to 6,500 preflop from the cutoff. Yuki Sako, the big blind, made the call. The flop came 6?5x3?. The big blind bet 45,000, with Bagosy raising all in for 268,000. Sako called, which put him at risk with the shorter stack.

Yuki Sako: AxAx
John Bagosy: A?4?

Sako's overpair was ahead, but Bagosy had multiple draws. One of those draws completed when a 2x hit on the turn, giving Bagosy a wheel. Another 2x on the river did not improve Sako's hand, and Bagosy scored the elimination.

Lin Gets Called Down by the King High of Lapido

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Ren Lin
Ren Lin

Ren Lin eagerly got the attention of PokerNews to recount a hand in which one of his own bluffs backfired.

Juan Maceiras Lapido raised under the gun to 5,000, Ren Lin three-bet from the cutoff to 15,000 and Lapido called.

On a flop of 4?6?10?, Lapido check-raised a bet of 13,000 from Lin to 36,000. Lin called.

The turned A? checked through to the 10? on the river. Lapido bet out for 60,000, then Lin raised to 120,000. Lapido made the call.

Ren Lin: 9?8?
Juan Maceiras Lapido: K?Q?

Lapido called down the river raise with just king-high and was correct in doing so. After recounting the hand to PokerNews, Lin was so impressed at the call he asked another player at the table to take a photo of both himself and Lapido together.

Kornuth Pushes Out Kono

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Chance Kornuth
Chance Kornuth

With the full board of J?9?4?9?K? showing, Reiji Kono bet 40,000 from the big blind. Chance Kornuth, who was the initial preflop raiser from the button, was the only other player to act. He looked at his opponent for a few moments before pushing out his stack of green 25,000-denomination chips, more than enough to put Kono all in.

Kono did not take long before folding his cards and watching Kornuth add chips to his growing stack.
