Cartwright Can Feel the Payne

Level 20 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Joshua Payne opened to 40,000 with the A?A?, picking up a call by Kyle Cartwright in the big blind with the K?9?. On a K?5?2? flop, Cartwright opted to check-call for 35,000 and checked again the 10? on the turn.

Payne fired a second barrel for 105,000 and received a call by Cartwright, who then improved with the 9? river. Cartwright now checked and Payne bet for 325,000 as his opponent vaulted out of the chair.

Cartwright shook his head but called after a minute for Payne to announce aces, as Cartwright shook his head.

"Is that no good?" Payne inquired and was then instantly shown the bad news.

Obst Gives Up on the River

Level 20 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Tanner Lefferts and James Obst had created a 115,000 pot preflop and they went heads up to a flop of 5?J?8?.

Lefferts bet 40,000 chips on the 5?J?8? flop and Obst made the call. On the 8? turn, Lefferts upped the ante to 105,000 and Obst once again matched the bet.

The river then fell the 9? and Lefferts once again increased his sizing, this time to 230,000. It was enough to let Obst let his hand go, and Lefferts overtook Obst in chips before the table broke not much later.

Steven Watts was all-in out of the big blind with the K?10? by the time the live stream action switched over from an interview with Nikita Luther in the Grand Ballroom. He was dominated by Nicholas Rigby on the button with the K?J? and fell further behind on the J?7?4? flop.

It was allover on the 7? turn to make the 3? river a formality.

Gimble Bluffs Vierling

Level 20 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Kevin Gimble opened from the hijack and was called by Jessica Vierling on the button and Jason Koon in the big blind.

No further action occurred on the flop 8?9?4? as all three players checked. However, on the turn J?, Gimble bet 65,000. Vierling made the call, but Koon folded.

Things got interesting on the river A? when Gimble added 60,000 more chips to the pot. On the other side of the table, Vierling raised to 200,000. Gimble seemed like he didn't understand Vierling's story, so to check if the story was true, he three-bet to 460,000.

The action went back to Vierling, and it was her turn to struggle. She hesitated between calling and folding for a long minute, but eventually chose to fold.

Fair player, Gimble showed K?10? for a nice bluff.

Rigby Bets Out Spunt on the Turn

Level 20 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Jordan Grant opened to 40,000 with the 10?10? and newly-arrived Steven Spunt three-bet to 110,000 with A?Q? in the hijack. Nicholas Rigby cold-called in the cutoff with the 3?3? and Grant also called.

The K?8?2? flop was checked to Spunt, who bet 150,000 and earned a call from Rigby only. Spunt checked the 2? turn and Rigby took it down with a bet worth 400,000.

Kyle Finds a Set Up to Double Up

Level 20 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

The board already showed A?9?10?A? and the big blind checked to Jon Kyte who bet 60,000. After some thinking, the big blind raised it to 160,000.

Kyte tanked and decided to sent 460,000 in the middle, leaving him with only 5,000 behind. The big blind shoved and Kyle called with his last chip:

Jon Kyte: A?9?
Big Blind: K?6?

Kyte had hit the full house while his opponent had the flush, and doubled up after the 2? completed the board.
