Nakanishi Hits the Rail

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Shota Nakanishi opened to 55,000 from middle position and then called after Viliyan Petleshkov three-bet to 145,000 on the button.

Nakanishi check-called a continuation of 100,000 from Petleshkov on the A?K?4? flop to send the action to the turn.

Both players checked through the J? turn to the 8? river at which point Nakanishi moved all in for 550,000, representing a pot sized bet. That sent Petleshkov into the tank as he spent around a minute contemplating his decision. Eventually he found a call with A?10? and was rewarded with the pot and elimination after Nakanishi could only turn over a bluff.

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Charlie Chiu
Charlie Chiu

Picking up the action on the 5?3?2? flop, Rhian Fineis bet 100,000 in the hijack and Charlie Chiu called on the button. That brought them to the A? turn on which Fineis check-called for 225,000.

The same action repeated on the 5? river as Fineis check-called for 575,000. Chiu tabled the 4?4? for the wheel and Fineis mucked. His stack tumbled to a mere 100,000 and he bowed out soon after.

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Jeremy Becker
Jeremy Becker

Rene Lazaro opened to from middle position and mid-stakes tournament prodigy Jeremy Becker defended out of the big blind.

Becker, seated aside fellow tournament crusher Chance Kornuth, checked on the 4?J?J? flop and called as Lazaro continued for 25,000. Becker then led out for 105,000 on the Q? turn and Lazaro called.

The 6? river completed the board and Becker sized up to 285,000. Lazaro counted out his stack before eventually calling. Becker sheepishly turned over a bluff with K?9? for king-high and Lazaro tabled an underpair with 3?3? to win the pot.

Bill Klein
Bill Klein

Bill Klein opened to 55,000 from late position and was called by Stuart Taylor in the cutoff as well as Nicholas Rigby on the button. Ryan Brown then moved all in for 1,200,000 out of the small blind, getting calls from Klein with the covering stack as well as Taylor. Rigby, meanwhile, got out of the way.

Stuart Taylor: A?A?

Taylor, though the effective stack, was in a good spot to get a crucial triple up, that is until the flop came 8?3?K?, vaulting Klein into the lead. The J? turn did give Brown a gutshot and he managed to complete his runner-runner straight after the 10? improved him to broadway to eliminate Taylor and leave Klein short.

Larson Calls Correctly, Gets Flushed Out

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Thomas Larson
Thomas Larson

Three players headed to a flop in a three-bet pot which contained a little over 500,000 in the middle already. The flop came 10?10?2? and the action checked to Scott Berko on the button who bet 215,000. Thomas Larson check-raised to 445,000 and Berko ripped all in. Larson went into the tank for over three minutes with just 900,000 behind and then finally called.

Thomas Larson: 8?8?
Scott Berko: A?K?

"I knew you had spades!" Larson shouted as he rose from his chair. "Come on baby, hold one time!" Larson crossed his fingers and held them to his lips.

The turn was the 9? and Larson's emotions were on full display. The river was the 3? and Berko exploded out of his chair as he spiked a flush on the river. Larson's reaction was the opposite as he smacked his chair to the ground before exiting the tournament area.

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Heads-up on a flop of 2?Q?8?, Ronald Cleaver bet 75,000 from the cutoff before Riley Dieckhoff shoved all in for around 400,000 in the small blind. Cleaver called to put him at risk.

Riley Dieckhoff: Q?J?
Ronald Cleaver: A?A?

Dieckhoff had flopped top pair but walked right into Cleaver's aces and was at serious risk of his Main Event coming to an end. The 10? turn gave him a flush draw, but he missed the K? river.

"You had to give me a pair," Dieckhoff said before collecting his payout slip.
