Yokosawa Loses a Pot; Remains Big Stack

Level 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Masato Yokosawa
Masato Yokosawa

According to French poker media, Masato Yokosawa soared near the top of the leaderboard a few minutes ago when he knocked out Clay Johnson in a four-bet pot when the latter called a shove on the 7?6?2?3? turn with pocket nines. Yokosawa had pocket aces and held on the Q? river.

Yokosawa put the new found chips to use with a raise to 85,000 in the cutoff and Robert French defended the big blind. French check-called the A?10?3? flop for 55,000 and the 4? turn for 165,000.

French also checked the J? river and Yokosawa bet 400,000. The check-shove by French followed and Yokosawa instantly folded.

"He is human!" Christopher Kimmel in the nine seat exclaimed.

Li Gets Sucked Out of the Tournament

Level 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

In an earlier post, it was mentioned that Henry Li had been eliminated from the Main Event. He was kind enough to stop by the PokerNews desk to tell how it had happened.

Charles Melton raised to 80,000 from the button and Li three-bet jammed 840,000 from the small blind. The big blind got out of the way and Melton made the call.

Henry Li: 10?10?
Charles Melton: 8x8x

The flop remained clean for Li with A?K?9?, but the turn spelled disaster when the 8? gave Melton a set. No ten arrived on the K? river and Li was ousted from the tournament.

To add some salt to the wound, someone mentioned they had folded an eight preflop, making Li's bad beat a pure one-outer.

Kevin Gimble: A?8?
Diego Ramos: K?Q?

Ramos picked up a straight draw on the 9?10?2? flop, but Gimble remained in front following the 6? turn. The river, though, brought the J? and Ramos completed his straight to send Gimble to the payout desk.

Jaka Whiffs Against Boghean

Level 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Faraz Jaka
Faraz Jaka

Heads-up on a flop of 5?3?3?, Andrei Boghean bet 300,000 from the button before Faraz Jaka, in the hijack, raised to 700,000.

Boghean spent a few moments counting out his stack before reraising to 1,300,000. It was then Jaka's time to tank before he announced he was all in. Boghean instantly flung in a chip to signify a call.

Faraz Jaka: 8?7?
Andrei Boghean: K?K?

Jaka was looking to complete his flush draw against Boghean's kings. The 8? turn gave him additional outs, but Jaka missed everything on the J? river. The stacks were counted down and Boghean narrowly had Jaka's remaining 1,800,000 covered to send him to the rail.

Obregon Spikes the Turn to Cross Ten Million

Level 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Bryan Obregon
Bryan Obregon

Bryan Obregon has been on a relentless tear up the chip count leaderboard today, and his latest victim was Christopher Ahrens.

Obregon and Ahrens were heads-up on a flop of 3?J?7? when Ahrens moved all in for 300,000 from the big blind and Obregon called from early position.

Christopher Ahrens: J?10?
Bryan Obregon: 10?9?

Ahrens was ahead with a pair of jacks, but his hope proved short-lived as the 8? turn improved Obregon to a straight. The river fell the Q? and Obregon sent Ahrens to the rail and his stack up past 10,000,000 heading to the dinner break.

Betito Cracks Mastelotto's Kings and Main Event Dreams

Level 24 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Liran Betito
Liran Betito

Heads-up on a flop of 5?4?9?, Gustavo Masteloto moved his last 1,800,000 into the middle and was up against Liran Betito on the button.

Gustavo Mastelotto: K?K?
Liran Betito: 5?4?

"Wow," several tablemates cried out after seeing Betito's flopped two pair. The 4? on the turn improved him to a full house and left Mastelotto looking for just two outs on the river to stay alive.

The 5? wasn't one of them and the table let out another collective "wow" as Betito leapt from his seat and clapped his hands together while a stunned Mastelotto made his way to the exit.
