There will be no "Aussie! Aussie! Aussie! Oy! Oy! Oy!" at the final table of the 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event. Joe Hachem and Chris Moneymaker both busted early on Day 5, guaranteeing the eventual winner will be a first-time champion.

Tuesday's session began with 441 players, including the two aforementioned previous champs. Moneymaker famously won it in 2003, which helped spark a massive poker boom. Hachem, the Australian poker legend took it down in 2005 when he defeated Steve Dannenmann heads-up.

Larson Calls Correctly, Gets Flushed Out

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Thomas Larson
Thomas Larson

Three players headed to a flop in a three-bet pot which contained a little over 500,000 in the middle already. The flop came 10?10?2? and the action checked to Scott Berko on the button who bet 215,000. Thomas Larson check-raised to 445,000 and Berko ripped all in. Larson went into the tank for over three minutes with just 900,000 behind and then finally called.

Thomas Larson: 8?8?
Scott Berko: A?K?

"I knew you had spades!" Larson shouted as he rose from his chair. "Come on baby, hold one time!" Larson crossed his fingers and held them to his lips.

The turn was the 9? and Larson's emotions were on full display. The river was the 3? and Berko exploded out of his chair as he spiked a flush on the river. Larson's reaction was the opposite as he smacked his chair to the ground before exiting the tournament area.

Jeremy Becker
Jeremy Becker

Chance Kornuth raised to 55,000 from early position and Jeremy Becker shoved all in for 740,000 from middle position.

The action folded back to Kornuth and he instantly put in the call with the covering stack.

Jeremy Becker: 9?9?
Chance Kornuth: A?K?

Becker had a slight lead with his pair of nines, and increased it when he flopped an open-ended straight draw on 10?8?7?. The turn of J? made him his straight and Kornuth did not rebink Broadway when the J? paired the board on the river.

Becker doubled up and Kornuth finally forfeited some chips on Day 5.

Pei Li

Yilu Yuan moved all in for 420,000 from early position and Thiago Crema called next to act. Action folded around to Pei Li on the button, and he announced a reshove for his last 1,520,000. Crema spent several minutes in the tank before he called, having Li barely covered.

Yilu Yuan: 9?9?
Pei Li: K?K?
Thiago Crema: J?J?

Li had woken up with kings and moved further in front on the K?5?2? flop with top set. The Q? turn left both opponents drawing dead, and he secured the massive pot following the Q? river. Yuan was eliminated, while Crema handed over most of his stack.

Dunst Scores Massive Double with Aces

Level 22 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Tony Dunst
Tony Dunst

John Racener opened to 60,000 from late position before Tony Dunst three-bet to 230,000 out of the small blind. Action folded back around to Racener who came over the top for 645,000. Dunst just called to send the two players to the flop with over 1,000,000 already in the middle.

Dunst checked following the 4?J?6? flop and then called a continuation of 390,000 from Racener.

The 2? turn saw Dunst check for a second time at which point Racener decided to bet enough to force his opponent all in. Dunst wasted little time in making the call for his tournament life.

Tony Dunst: A?A?
John Racener: K?K?

Dunst had picked up pocket rockets at the perfect time to set himself up well for a massive double up. The river brought no miracle for Racener, instead bricking out with the 2? to send one of the biggest pots of the day to Dunst.

Zanot Runs Into Richez's Kings

Level 22 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Clement Richez
Clement Richez

Thomas Zanot won a $6,000,000 jackpot playing Pai Gow earlier this year. But the poker pro won't be adding the $12,100,000 Main Event top prize after a preflop all in confrontation against Clement Richez.

Zanot three-bet to 180,000 from middle position before Richez made it 525,000. Zanot then shoved all in for around 1,600,000 and Richez snap-called.

Thomas Zanot: A?9?
Clement Richez: K?K?

Richez asked the dealer to hold up dealing the flop as he whipped out his phone and began taking pictures of the action as the board finally came 4?7?K?, giving him top set.

"That's a good start," Zanot said, resigned to his fate as 6? turn left him drawing dead heading to the 9? river as Richez scooped the massive pot.

Shortly after, Harsheel Kothari eliminated Maryjo Zogman on the same table.

Jaka Three-Bets the Turn

Level 22 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Faraz Jaka
Faraz Jaka

Faraz Jaka sat in the small blind and was battling Nick Guagenti in a heads up pot worth 400,000 chips. The flop was already dealt and read 6?10?7?.

Jaka checked and called a subsequent 215,000 bet from Guagenti. On the following A? turn, Jaka led for 250,000 and Nick raised that to 725,000, leaving only 425,000 chips behind.

Jaka mulled it over for a bit before announcing "all-in." Guagenti instantly folded and left himself short, while Jaka shipped a nice pot without showdown.

Kornuth Traps With Big Slick, Bluffs River

Level 22 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Chance Kornuth
Chance Kornuth

Anirban Das opened to 65,000 from the cutoff and Chance Kornuth and Jeremy Becker called in the blinds.

Kornuth and Becker checked on the flop of J?8?4? and Das continued for 75,000. Only Kornuth called. Kornuth checked on the 3? turn and Das checked back.

The 10? river completed the board and Kornuth, in a Chip Leader Coaching hoodie and behind a pair of aviators, bet a massive 355,000 for nearly the size of the pot. Das called. Kornuth turned over A?K? for ace-high and Das tabled Q?8? to win the pot with a pair of eights.
