Shak Stays Alive, Negreanu Scoops Side Pot
Dan Shak moved his short stack all in from under the gun and was at risk when Daniel Negreanu committed chips in middle position. Gary Bolden came along on the button, with John Racener calling in the small blind and Ziya Rahim calling from the big blind.
The dealer revealed the 3?8?9? flop, with action checking around to the 6? turn. Racener and Rahim checked again before Negreanu fired a bet into the middle. Bolden called, as did Racener and Rahim.
The 2? river slowed the action again, with all four players checking through. Negreanu showed A?6?5?2? for two pair and a low, scooping the side pot as his opponents mucked.
Shak had stood up but sat back down after showing Q?10?5?4? for a six-high straight to claim half of the main pot, with Negreanu getting the low half.
