Fishman Doubles Off Wells
Level 14
Badugi
"Phil, remember that chapter you wrote about stack preservation? I might need you to give me a few lessons," a short-stacked Ray Fishman said to tablemate Phil Hellmuth.
Fishman then got around 25,000 in the middle against Robert Wells on the first draw. Both players took one, then Wells drew one while Fishman stood pat.
Wells took one more on the last draw and Fishman stood pat, turning over 8?6?3?A? for a Badugi. Wells had 8?7?2? and was already drawing dead as Fishman doubled up.
"Be honest, Daniel. You were rooting against me," Fishman said to Daniel Negreanu.
"I'm not rooting against anybody. I'm rooting for me," Negreanu replied.
Paul Volpe and Ben Yu weren't as fortunate, as they have both been eliminated.
