Rheem Avoids a Penalty, Then Drops a Chunk to Mercier
Before the hand, a tournament official warned Chino Rheem not to talk on the phone and vape at the table.
"Talking and vaping? That's a round penalty easy. I have a last longer. Actually, keep him here," tablemate Keith Lehr said.
"I'm going to raise now," Rheem said as he opened from under the gun. Jason Mercier called in the big blind and drew three, while Rheem took two.
Mercier then led out with a bet. "Only J draws three and leads," Rheem said as he called. Mercier stood pat and Rheem drew one.
Mercier bet, Rheem raised, and Mercier reraised. Rheem called and both players stood pat. Mercier bet again and Rheem called.
Mercier turned over 7x6x4x3x2x. "F**king No. 2's," Rheem said as he slammed his chips on the table. The pot had to be counted down to make sure Rheem had put in the right amount before Mercier raked in the chips.
"Your name isn't Jason anymore. It's No. 2," Rheem added.
