Short-Stacked Davids Hanging In There
David Hoffenberg and David Goodman have been the two short stacks at the table for quite some time, with Goodman falling to as low as five big blinds. However, despite their very patient play, they both have managed to stay in the game with a few timely all-ins to steal the blinds. They were then both able to double-up through table chipleader Antonio Galiana.
Hoffenberg was able to chip up first, going all in and showing the ace every time the table folded. When he once went all in again from the button for 760,000, he got called by Galiana.
David Hoffenberg: K?9?
Antonia Galiana: A?3?
The board came J?9?2?5?8?, Hoffenberg hit a pair of nines and was able to double up.
Despite an extremely short stack, Goodman was also able to take the blinds four times in the last few rounds. On his most recent all in from the cutoff, however, he got called, also by Galiana.
David Goodman: 8?7?
Antonio Galiana: 6?6?
The board was 7?9?K?4?10? and Goodman was able to edge out Galiana's sixes with his sevens and doubled up.
