Kornuth Doubles Leaving Defending Champion Sturm Short

Level 20 : Blinds 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante

The action folded around to Chance Kornuth in the small blind who shoved all in for 2,485,000. Leon Sturm was in the big blind and after he received the count, he tossed in a chip to signify a call.

Chance Kornuth: A?K? All in
Leon Sturm: K?J?

Kornuth flopped top pair on the A?2?10? board but wouldn't have felt comfortable as the reigning champion Sturm picked up a flush draw.

That flush draw wouldn't come to fruition as the 3? turn and 9? river kept Kornuth's pair of aces in the lead which doubled him up.

Martin Kabrhel Eliminated in 10th Place ($131,867)

Level 20 : Blinds 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante
Martin Kabrhel
Martin Kabrhel

Martin Kabrhel raised to 320,000 from the cutoff and Sergio Aido shoved all in from the small blind for around 10,000,000. Kabrhel, who had around 2,500,000 chips behind, still demanded a count from Aido. Eventually, Kabrhel made the call.

Martin Kabrhel: 9?9? All in
Sergio Aido: A?Q?

Aido was propelled into the lead on the A?7?A? flop as he improved to trips, which left Kabrhel drawing to just two outs.

The 5? turn was no help to Kabrhel, and Aido boated up on the 5? river to win the pot.

Kornuth Virtually Doubles

Level 20 : Blinds 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante

Jonathan Jaffe opened to 350,000 from the cutoff. Chance Kornuth three-bet to 900,000 out of the big blind leaving just 220,000 behind. Jaffe made the call and they headed to a flop.

Both players checked the monotone 6?10?4? flop to see the 8? fall on the turn which was checked through again.

On the 5? river Kornuth bet 200,000. Jaffe went deep into the tank before eventually making the call. Kornuth showed A?8? for the nut flush to win the pot.

Lonis Shows the Bluff

Level 19 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Jesse Lonis

Jesse Lonis raised to 250,000 from the cutoff and Leon Sturm defended from the big blind.

Sturm checked the K?7?K? flop to which Lonis fired a continuation-bet of 120,000. Sturm check-raised to 400,000 and Lonis called.

Sturm bet 490,000 when the J? came on the turn. Lonis counted out the chips and made the call.

When the dealer put out the Q? on the river, Sturm opted to check. Lonis now fired out a bet of 1,050,000. Sturm used multiple time extensions before electing to fold and forfeit the pot to Lonis.

Lonis flipped over A?4? for a stone bluff and said "I always show my bluffs."

Mateos Counterfeited on the River

Level 19 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Martin Kabrhel limped from the button, Adrian Mateos made up the small blind, and Sergio Aido checked the big blind.

On the Q?7?5? flop, Mateos and Aido checked before Kabrhel bet 170,000. Mateos called, Aido made it 700,000, Kabrhel folded, and Mateos called.

The turn 10? turn went check-check, as did the 7? river. Mateos showed Q?5? for a flopped two pair that got counterfeited on the river, and Aido tabled Q?J? and took the pot with a better kicker.

Robert Salaburu
Robert Salaburu

Viktor Blom raised to 240,000 from under the gun and Robert Salaburu shoved from the small blind for 1,345,000. Jesse Lonis folded his big blind but Blom used a time bank before opting to make the call.

Robert Salaburu: K?Q? All in
Viktor Blom: Q?J?

The flop came 10?K?2? for Salaburu to hit top pair but for Blom to pick up the open-ended straight draw.

The turn was the A? for Blom to make Broadway to leave Salaburu drawing dead while the 3? completed the board.
