Today marks the conclusion of Event #44: $2,000 No-Limit Hold 'em at the 2024 World Series of Poker at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas. Day 3 of this three-day event will see the remaining 17 finalists race towards the first-place prize of $410,359 and the converted gold WSOP bracelet, with play recommencing at 12 p.m. local time.

Javier Gomez, who bagged the all-important chip lead for the Day 3 restart, will be heading into proceedings in pole position. Gomez amassed an impressive stack of 4,870,000 by last night's conclusion and is over 800,000 in front of his nearest competitor Nicholas Massey, the only other player to eclipse the four million chip mark.

All eyes will certainly be on our short-stack Barry Shulman who will be looking to convert his stack of 685,000 into the third gold WSOP bracelet of his career. Shulman won his first bracelet over two decades ago in the 2001 $1,500 Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo Split Eight or Better but is better known for his 10,000 WSOP Europe Main Event win in 2009.

With these two prior victories, Shulman is the last remaining finalist with a WSOP title under his belt, meaning for the other 16 contenders a victory today will mark their maiden World Series win.
