Day 2 of Event #46: Seniors No-Limit Hold'em; Hennigan at it Again
Every year, many poker players from around the world book their pilgrimage to Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas based on when one or two events land on the schedule. Event #46: $1,000 Seniors No-Limit Hold’em Championship is one of those events. The 647 competitors who survived Day 1a and the whopping 914 who found a bag on Day 1b will joining the fray together here on Day 2.
The allure of the World Series of Poker for many is the opportunity to play with some of the most skilled and well-known players in the game and this tournament provided. Bracelet winners James Calderaro (175,000) and Julio Belluscio (256,500) bagged healthy stacks. Brent Nelms (525,000) and William Elliott (530,000) bagged the chip lead for Day 1a and Day 1b, respectively.
One player may have fewer chips, but the best in the game affectionately refer to him as John “Johnny World” Hennigan (80,500) and he is still well in the mix. Hennigan is a Hall-of-Famer who won his seventh bracelet earlier this series in the $1,500 Dealer’s Choice. A couple of double-ups and Hennigan could be a force to be reckoned with and one worth watching in the counts.

Play will commence at 11 a.m Las Vegas time in the Horseshoe Ballroom with blinds at 1,000/2,500 with a 2,500 big blind ante. Day 2 will feature ten 60-minute levels of play with a break every two levels. A one-hour dinner break is slated after Level 17, at approximately 5:30 p.m.
