Funkhouser Makes His Case for an Emmy Award
Level 18
: Blinds 5,000/10,000, 15,000 ante
Chance Kornuth opened the hijack to 20,000 and David Funkhouser three-bet the cutoff to 65,000. In the small blind, Bin Weng cold four-bet to 150,000, Kornuth folded, and Funkhouser tanked for a while before he called.
Weng stood pat, and Funkhouser appeared displeased with his decision. After about a minute he decided to pat behind.
Weng didn't take long before he jammed for 229,000 effective as the covering stack and Funkhouser beat him into the pot as he announced, "Number two," and tabled 7x6x4x3x2x while Weng mucked.
"You would have stacked me too. I had a big hand," commented Kornuth from across the table as Funkhouser dragged the largest pot of the tournament.
