Gibson Sets a Trap
A player waved over PokerNews to his table.
“Looking for a story?” the player asked, and then pointed to Toby Gibson in Seat 9.
Gibson chuckled and pulled out his phone to show a photo of a hand, which rewarded him with a full double up.
Gibson explained he raised preflop with 10?8? and the photo showed a runout of 8?10?9?10?4?, giving Gibson a full house of tens full of eights.
Gibson said the fireworks happened on the river after he checked. He said his opponent then moved all in for a little more than 200,000, which covered Gibson’s chip stack. But it was an easy call for Gibson and his full house.
So, what did his opponent have?
Gibson reached down to his phone and enlarged the photo to show 3?2? tabled on the other side of the dealer.
“I caught a player trying to bluff,” Gibson said with a grin.
