Marder Dodges Bullets; Busts Next Hand

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Michael Marder
Michael Marder

Michael Marder opened 3,000 under the gun and Benjamin Pollak put in a three-bet to 7,000 from a couple of spots to his left. The action folded back around to Marder and he thought about it for a few moments before saving his remaining 13,000. Pollak let him know it was a good fold by flashing A?A?.

The following hand, Pollak opened 3,500 and Veerab Zakarian called in the cutoff before Marder defended the big blind.

The dealer spread a flop of 6?5?4? and Marder jammed his last 8,000. Pollak quickly got out of the way and Zakarian snap-called.

Michael Marder: A?3? All in
Veerab Zakarian: 8?7?

Marder flopped an open-ended straight draw but Zakarian had already flopped the nut straight. The K? turn and 2? river improved him to a flush as Marder left the table.

Vanessa Selbst raised to 3,500 under the gun before Jeremy Schoenberg three-bet to 10,500 in the cutoff. The small blind then moved all in for 31,500.

Selbst went into the tank for around a minute before she folded, but Schoenberg snap-called.

All-In Player: J?J? All in
Jeremy Schoenberg: A?K?

"It's a classic," the at-risk player said, but he wound up on the wrong side of the coin flip after the board ran out 7?A?3?5?3? to send him to the rail.

"I had you beat pre-flop," Selbst told Schoenberg after the hand, saying she folded two tens.

Mendez is Hart-Broken

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Three players saw the 8?5?4? flop and Ismir Dupljak checked to Drew Hart who dropped a bet of 5,500 across the line. Matthew Mendez was on the button and jammed for 32,500, Dupljak called and Hart jammed all-in, putting Dupljak at risk. After a few moments, Dupljak mucked his hand.

Matthew Mendez: J?9? All in
Drew Hart: 5?5?

Hart flopped a set of fives but Mendez still had outs as he flopped a flush draw, although the 3? turn and 2? river were no help as he left the table.

Giuseppe Pantaleo
Giuseppe Pantaleo

Erle Mankin was one of more than 200 late entrants on Day 2abc and he just turned some small profit after sending Giuseppe Pantaleo to the rail. The latter had jammed for 9,500 and the hijack clicked it back to 16,500. Mankin then pushed all-in for 49,000 to force out everyone else.

Giuseppe Pantaleo: Q?J? All in
Erle Mankin: Q?Q?

The board ran out 9?5?3?9?4? and Pantaleo was felted. He jokingly made a fuss about it in jest and then joked "it will sound to them as if it was a 200k pot". Mankin replied "it was to us" as he had been nursing a shorter stack thus far.
