Karina Jett
Karina Jett

Action was picked up with Karina Jett all in, and Marc Fischer facing a four-bet of 32,600 from Steven Buckner. Fischer made the call to see a flop.

The flop came 2?3?2? and Buckner announced all in for 50,600. Fischer was sitting in the tank for almost two minutes with Buckner telling him "Just lay it down and you'll be very happy you folded". Fischer did not listen to Buckner though, and he made the call to put Buckner at risk.

Karina Jett: A?J? All in
Steven Buckner: K?K? All in
Marc Fischer: K?K?

Buckner and Fischer both woke up with kings and were ahead of the ace-jack high of Jett. After the 5? turn and 7? river, Jett was not able to beat the kings of Buckner and Fischer and was eliminated from the tournament.

Van Lent Puts the Ultimate Cooler on an Opponent

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Anuschka van Lent
Anuschka van Lent

A situation arose at Anuschka Van Lent's table as a player raised to 14,000 in early position. Van Lent then announced raise and put in only 15,000. The floor was called over and it was ruled that Van Lent had to make it at least 23,000.

"I have to do it," her opponent said.

"I wouldn't if I were you," Van Lent replied.

The early-position player then tanked for a few minutes. "Alright, guys, it's been a good tournament," he told his tablemates before moving all in for 65,000.

Van Lent then tanked herself for a few minutes before she called.

All-In Player: K?K? All in
Anuschka Van Lent: A?A?

"I was afraid of that," the at-risk player said upon seeing Van Lent's aces. The board ran out 8?9?2?7?2? and Van Lent, an actress and social media influencer with more than 600,000 Instagram followers, took the pot and sent her opponent to the rail.

Patrick Leonard was standing up and at risk in a three-way preflop all in.

Xuejian Sun: K?K? All in
Patrick Leonard: A?K? All in
David Fhima: J?J?

David Fhima had the largest stack and could take out two players but Xuejian Sun was in best position to triple up with his kings. New member to the table, Daniel Negreanu filmed the action for his vlog as did Mayuko Morita as this was about to be a very well documented run out.

The flop came Q?A?5? to launch Leonard into the lead. The turn was the 5? and the river the 7? to give Leonard the big pot, bust Sun and take a big chunk away from Fhima.

No Friends in Poker

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Jimmy D'Ambrosio
Jimmy D'Ambrosio

Action folded around to Jimmy D'Ambrosio in the small blind and he limped before calling a raise to 3,000 from Henry Chan in the big blind. "You know I'm gonna lead out on any flop right," joked D'Ambrosio as the two friends from a Chicago home game prepared to battle in a heads-up pot.

D'Ambrosio kept his word following the 4?5?10? flop by tossing 3,500 into the middle. Chan stuck around to see a turn.

The Ax turn saw D'Ambrosio slow down, checking to Chan, who bet 10,000. With a "not today Henry" D'Ambrosio moved all in with the covering stack. Chan called off for his remaining 32,000 to put himself at risk.

Henry Chan: 5x4x All in
Jimmy D'Ambrosio: 3?2?

D'Ambrosio had turned the wheel to leave Chan needing to fill up to survive. The 9? river kept the straight best to send last year's 31st place finisher out short of the money while propelling D'Ambrosio up the chip counts.

Zhou Shows the Bluff

Quan Zhou

A player opened under the gun and Brian Altman called from a few spots to his left before Quan Zhou three-bet 10,000 from the small blind. The original raiser folded but Altman made the call.

Both players checked to the Q?J?5?7?9? river, where Zhou checked once again. Altman dropped 7,000 across the line and Zhou wasted no time check-jamming for more than 60,000. Altman's cards flung into the muck.

Zhou whipped over A?K? for ace-high as he pulled in the pot.

Zhou Catches Galfond Bluffing

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Phil Galfond and Hao Zhou were heads-up on a flop of 5?4?Q? with several thousand already in the middle.

Zhou check-called a 4,500 bet from Galfond and then check-called a 21,000 bet from Galfond on the 9? turn.

The K? completed the board and Zhou checked a final time. Galfond cut out a bet of 70,000 and placed it into the middle — sending Zhou deep into the tank.

Zhou eventually put in a call and Galfond tabled 2?2?. Zhou let out a sigh of relief and tabled A?A? for a pair of aces to take down the large pot.
