Spurlin Cracks Kings

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Action folded to a player in middle position, and he raised to 3,000. Jordan Spurlin called from the hijack, as did Stanley Tang on the button.

The flop came 3?A?Q? and all three players checked to the turn.

After the 8? on the turn, the middle position player bet out 4,000. Spurlin called, and Tang folded.

The river was the 4? and the middle position player checked to Spurlin, who bet 26,500 to put his opponent all in. After taking a minute to think over his decision, he did make the call.

Spurlin tabled A?10? for a pair of aces, and the all-in player tossed K?K? into the muck as they left the tournament area.

Duveau Out Just Before Dinner

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Arthur Schiavo left the tournament area with a very loud "fuck" after his flopped set of fours went down in flames, up against ace-king which went runner-runner for the superior full house.

Two tables over, Julien Duveau got it in for 16,300 preflop with the 7?7?. Dann Turner looked him up with A?10? and hit broadway on the K?J?5?7?Q? runout.

"Terrible. I had thirty five tournaments and no cash," Duveau sighed on his way out.

Harder Calls Off His Main Event

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Action was on the river with Christian Harder in the midst of a bigtime decision. The pot had 95,000 in it and the board read 6?J?9?3?7?. Chad Lousberg bet 70,000 which had Harder covered who was deep in the tank.

The clock was called, which Harder disagreed with, saying he had only had a minute. The dealer waited a while to call the floor as he continued to tank. Eventually the floor did come over to count it down and in the final seconds of the count down, Harder called.

Lousberg tabled the K?Q? for the flush. Harder got up in anger and left the room swiftly as the dealer turned over the hand he had called with, A?A?.

McEwen Popped

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Catalin Pop
Catalin Pop

Action was on the river in a three-way pot that had 30,000 in it. It read J?8?4?J?5?. From the hijack, big stack Catalin Pop dialed up the pressure cooker on his two shorter stacked opponents as he bet 75,000 which covered both players.

The first decision was on Ignacio Costa in the small blind who had about 55,000 behind, he went long into the tank and put his head in his hands multiple times while sighing. Eventually after 3 minutes he folded.

Then it was Preston McEwen's turn to stew from early position. He had about 35,500 behind and took around two minutes himself before he spiked in the call.

Pop turned over the J?10? for trip jacks. McEwen got up in a hurry in visible frustration as his 9x9x hand was turned over and he fled out of the room with his main event over.

Meanwhile, Cuesta reacted in relief when he saw Pop's hand, indicating he had made the correct fold to preserve his tournament life.

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Peter Lynn: K?Q?All in
Manpreet Bal: Q?Q?

Lynn had plenty of outs with his king and open-ended straight draw, but the 8?6? runout kept Bal best to send Lynn to the rail.
