Mantel Takes One Out Without Noticing; Zhang Dodges Everything to Double

Level 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Hongru Zhang
Hongru Zhang

Ariel Mantel raised on the button, the big blind moved all in for around 150,000, and Mantel called.

All-In Player: K?Q? All in
Ariel Mantel: 10?10?

The at-risk player took the lead on the 4?K?3? flop with a pair of kings, and the dealer started to push him the pot after running out the 8?J? board. The table then pointed out that Mantel had made a flush on the river to win the pot, while the big blind was sent to the rail.

The next hand at this table, Hongru Zhang raised to 24,000 under the gun and Mantel called in the cutoff, as did a player in the big blind.

Zhang continued for 42,000 on the J?2?5? flop and Mantel called. The big blind then raised to 115,000 and only Zhang called.

The turn was the 7? and the big blind moved all in. Zhang spent several minutes in the tank before calling for his last 284,000, turning over A?J? for top pair. His opponent had 6?3? for straight and flush draws but missed the 10? river as Zhang doubled up.

Berry Bluffs Big Against Gorham

Level 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Hector Berry and Jimmy Gorham were heads up in a massive pot of roughly 500,000 chips. The completed board read 3?3?10?9?2? and saw Gorham check from middle position to Berry in the cutoff.

Berry then shoved all in, covering the 290,000 chips of Gorham. Gorham spent some minutes in the tank before finally slamming in a tower of chips for a call.

Berry could only turn over K?J? for king-high, and was looked up by the 7?7? of Gorham, who had caught the bluff with third pair.

Lin Puts a Tough Beat on Werner

Level 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Ren Lin
Ren Lin

After some previous raising action, Aaron Werner moved all in for 510,000 out of the small blind and was called by Ren Lin on the button.

Aaron Werner: Q?Q? All in
Ren Lin: J?9?

Werner was in wonderful shape to score a massive double. Unfortunately for him, the board ran out 7?9?A?3?9? to improve Lin to trips to hand him an unlikely knockout while leaving a sour taste in Werner's mouth. "I thought you had ace-king," Lin explained to Werner as his opponent made his way to the exits.

Weng Applies the Pressure

Level 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

With 250,000 chips in the pot on a board of 3?9?9?8?, the early-position player checked, and Bin Weng fired a bet of 92,000. Early position called.

A 4? landed on the river and again early position checked, and Weng went for it all as he bet enough to put the early position all-in. It took around two minutes but early position eventually decided to keep his 275,000 chips, and made the fold.

Rosenblum Dodges Lady

Level 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Action was retold that there was a three-way all in involving pocket kings, queens and jacks except that the queens had found the muck.

Matthew Ezrol folded pocket queens, while Russell Rosenblum had KxKx against the JxJx of Diogo Coelho.

The flop came queen-high much to Ezrol's dismay as the kings proved to be the winner over the jacks.

Two in a Row for Finger

Level 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Winson Yuen bet the K?9?3?J? turn for 65,000 from under the gun and then reluctantly folded when Martin Finger in the cutoff shoved for 395,000.

One hand later, there was an open raise to 25,000 and Finger in the hijack three-bet to 75,000. The initial raiser called and check-folded the J?9?2? flop when Finger made it 55,000 to go.

Burd Jumps to a Big Stack

Level 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

It all started with a rather simple hand in which the cutoff opened and both players in the blinds called. Eduard Burd led the 8?7?6? flop for 35,000 and called a raise to 70,000 by the big blind with the initial raiser folding.

After the J? turn, Burd check-raised all-in into a bet of 135,000 and his opponent reluctantly called for more than 400,000 with the 10?7? for a pair of sevens and gutshot. Burd had the 6?6? for a set and the river was a blank K?.

Soon after, the seat of the player in the big blind was empty and Andrew Hedley confirmed that the remaining chips had also been pushed to Burd as well. The very same player jammed K?J? for a king-high flush draw and Burd called with 10x9x for two pair to score the knockout.
