After bagging up at roughly 4:30 a.m. this morning, the 214 surviving players in Event #82: $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em Freezeout at the 2024 World Series of Poker hosted at Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas will return this afternoon at 3 p.m. and will play down to a winner.
Leading the way into Day 2 is Dan Olsen with a 677,000 stack, most of which he acquired within the closing levels of the day. Olsen is returning with 113 big blinds so he will have a lot of maneuverability and is sitting in a prime position to make a deep run. Another dangerous player to have a big stack is Chance Kornuth who will tear open a bag worth 84 big blinds with his stack of 501,000.
Kornuth was unfortunate enough to bust out of the WSOP Main Event yesterday but with any luck, he can rectify that loss with a deep run in this tournament.
Along with Kornuth there were only a few notables that were playing early yesterday like Kyna England (busted) and Jeff Madsen (24,000), but once Main Event Day 1d finished, there was a huge wave of players jostling to get into this event. Some of those players that bagged include David Peters (62,000), Sam Farha (Unkown), Wing Po Liu (unknown), and Michael Holtz (19,000), all looking to add another bracelet to their collection.
All 214 returning players are now in the money and are guaranteed a payout of $2,004 but of course, everyone is eyeballing the $189,661 sitting at the top along with the gold WSOP hardware.
As stated above, the players will take their seats at 3 p.m. local time in the Provence Ballroom in Horseshoe with approximately 12:15 left in Level 16 with blinds of 3,000/6,000 with a 6,000 big blind ante.
Note
Unfortunately, as of this moment, no seat draw/ official chip counts have been released but they will be posted as soon as we get them.
