Third Edition of WSOP Flip & Go Presented by GGPoker Starts at 10 AM
Welcome back to PokerNews, the official media partner of the 2024 World Series of Poker and home of live updates from all bracelet events.
Today sees the start of Event #85: $1,000 Flip & Go No-Limit Hold'em Presented by GGPoker here at Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas.
This two-day event gets underway at 10 a.m. local time, with late registration open all day. This event allows for unlimited reentry.
Players may enter multiple Single Table Flip & Gos on the day of the event but can only qualify for the restart once and may not reenter after qualifying.
The first hand of each flight is played crazy pineapple style, where players discard one of their hole cards after the flop, and everyone is all-in with one player advancing per table. It is then followed by a standard tournament structure played as no-limt holdem. If there is a split on the first hand, play will continue with all existing players being all in each hand until only one player remains.
- Win your table and you are in the money.
- Restart for all remaining players at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 9.
The starting stack is 20,000 chips, and flips will run continuously until a final flip is announced toward the end of the day. Day 2 resumes at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 9 and plays down to a winner.
Last years event attracted a field of 1,022 entries generating a prize pool of $1,182,810.
The winner was Dong Meng who defeated "Westside" Wesley Fei heads-up to win $160,490 and his first WSOP bracelet.
I feel surreal You know, Im just really excited," said Meng. "Im very grateful for this opportunity, and I know a lot of people [who wish they were competing] couldnt be here, so I feel very fortunate.
