Alex Richmond Defeats Tom McEvoy to Advance to Day 2 in His First-Ever WSOP Bracelet Event

Tom McEvoy limped in on the button, and Alex Richmond raised to 1,600. McEvoy moved all in for his last 16,000, and Richmond called.

McEvoy, a four-time WSOP bracelet winner, found himself at risk with {k-Clubs}{5-Clubs}, all in against the Canadian's {a-Spades}{7-Spades}.

The flop came {7-Clubs}{4-}{2-}, giving Richmond a pair of sevens and keeping him in the lead. The turn was the {q-Clubs}, and McEvoy picked up a flush draw to go with his overcard. The river was the {j-Hearts}, and McEvoy was eliminated.

Richmond entered in his first-ever WSOP bracelet event today and finds himself moving on to Day 2 and already in the money, guaranteed at least a min-cash worth $4,837.
