Max Silver Leads the Way Into Day 3 of Event #53
The final seven players of Event #53: $3,000 Limit Holdem 6-Max. bagged their chips to return on Thursday to their seat at the unofficial final table.
The day started with 73 players returning, and they went flying to the rail fast and furious. Stuart Rutter, Jason Mercier, Andre Akkari and Jack Duong joined the 62 other players that failed to make Day 3.
The money bubble lasted for more than an hour when, finally, Joseph Risi was eliminated, while Philip Rhee made it into the money with only 300 chips. And it was Max Silver (1,021,000) who ended the day as the big stack after a three-level surge that netted him 1-million chips.
The WSOP Player of the Year leaders tried their hand at trying to catch Ray Henson. John Racener (13th) and James Obst (25th) made the money, but ultimately busted before gaining on the players who were still playing the $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Eight or Better tournament.
The remaining players are competing for the $172,645 first-place prize and a WSOP gold bracelet.
