Reichenstein Shoves the River
There was a raise from early position and four other players called including Uri Reichenstein from the big blind. The flop came and the action was checked to the preflop raiser. He bet 3,000 and was called by the cutoff, only to have Reichenstein check-raise to 13,500. The player in early position folded and the cutoff made the call.
The turn was the and Reichenstein bet 24,500, which his opponent called after a couple moments. When the landed on the river, Reichenstein moved all in for 180,000. His opponent had just 125,000 behind, and so calling would put his tournament life on the line.
He thought, he thought, and he thought some more. Nearly 10 minutes had passed and Reichentein's opponent could only muster a look of agony on his face. Finally, another player in the hand called the clock and the floor came over to give him 30 seconds to act. The countdown reached zero and his hand was declared dead.
"Show the bluff, show the bluff," you could hear coming from all around the table.
"I can't," answered Reichenstein as he scooped a massive pot.
