David Berman Hits One-Outer to Stay Alive
David Berman started the day with 21,600 and is now at 340,000. He described the events that led up to his chip-up.
Berman was up to around 90,000 before the last break and got all his chips in preflop. A player in middle position had raised to 5,200, the button made it 18,000, and Berman made it 41,200 in the small blind. The big blind folded, and the initial raiser five-bet shoved with both opponents covered. The player on the button tank-folded and said he had kings. Berman called, and he was behind with jacks against his opponent's aces.
The flop came . Berman saw a jack in the window and yelled, "Yes!" Then he saw the ace behind it, and his excitement disappeared. The turn changed nothing, but Berman hit the case jack on the river to more than double up after being one card away from elimination.
