John Hesp Hero Calls a River Raise
John Hesp is a recreational poker player that is enjoying his time here at the WSOP. Hesp shows up every day dressed up in a fancy suit and is one of the most enjoyable people to talk with. He's not just here for a good time, though. Hesp wants to win. All the cameras were pointed in his direction a moment ago.
With the board reading and around 700,000 in the middle already, Hesp placed out a bet of 300,000 from the big blind. Wen Zhou was in middle position and raised to 900,000, putting Hesp in the tank. Hesp thought for a few minutes and counted his chips, eventually pushing forward a call. Zhou tabled , and Hesp rolled over for a bigger two pair.
"Yes!" Hesp shouted as he pumped his fists after making a great call.
"You are a professional player now," another player on the table said to Hesp.
"I guess I picked the wrong time to bluff," mumbled Zhou with a disheartened look on his face.
