Abine Doubles Hann, then Doubles Himself

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Shivan Abdine
Shivan Abdine

Shivan Apdine opened with a raise to 13,000 from early position and Jason Hann moved all in when folded to him for a bit over 150,000. Action folded back to Adbine who called swiftly.

Jason Hann: {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}
Shivan Abdine: {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}

The board ran out {6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} and both players made a straight, but Hann made a better straight, allowing him to double up.

Just a few hands later, Timo Hettinger moved all in under the gun. Abdine was in the big blind with an extremely short stack and he called after taking a look at his cards.

Shivan Abdine: {Q-Hearts}{3-Hearts}
Timo Hettinger: {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}

The board ran out {8-Spades}{5-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} and with that, Abdine made a flush on the turn to double up and stay alive. Abdine still has a short stack but sits with right around 45,000 after the two hands.

Putt Chips Up a Bit

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Catching the action on a flop of {Q-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} action checked to Michael Fraser and he put out a bet of 22,000. Action folded back to Graeme Putt who took a sip of tea.

"Do you want me to do it?" Putt asked. Fraser didn't repsond.

Putt did call though and the turn was the {3-Hearts}. Both players checked then checked again on the {4-Spades}.

"One pair," Putt said, showing his {4-Clubs}{6-Clubs}. Fraser could only muster {A-Hearts}{J-Spades} so Putt would take down the pot.

The Hot Streak For Bain Continues; Wakeman First Eliminated in the Money

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Matthew Wakeman
Matthew Wakeman

Immediately after the bubble burst, Matt Wakeman, the $5,000 Challenge champion, was eliminated.

Tristan Bain was the player who sent him to the rail and Bain explained the details of the hand. According to Bain he opened with a raise and Wakeman called in the big blind.

The flop came down {8-}{8-}{7-} and Wakeman checked. Bain put out a quarter pot-sized bet and Wakeman check-raised to 28,000. Bain went all in and Wakeman called.

Wakeman was holding {J-}{7-} for two pair, but was drawing slim as Bain flopped trips with {J-}{8-}. The turn and river were bricks and Wakeman was sent home in 30th place. For his run he'll take down $2,668.

Bain is now one of the biggest stacks in the room with over 300,000 chips.

Michael O'Grady Bubbles the $1,320 Six Max Event

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Michael O'Grady
Michael O'Grady

Action folded around to the cutoff where Michael O'Grady open-shoved all in for just over 100,000 chips. Next to act, Tristan Bain called. Everyone else folded and it was on to a showdown.

Michael O'Grady: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}
Tristan Bain: {K-Clubs}{K-Spades}

O'Grady was in a bad spot with an underpair to Bain's kings and he didn't find any help as the board ran out {J-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{8-Clubs}. The stacks were counted and O'Grady had slightly less than Bain, as Bain got a walk on the first hand of the day, giving him a bit more chips. With that, O'Grady hit the rail as the 31st place finisher, bringing the final 30 players into the money.

Each player is now guaranteed at least $2,668 for their run in this event.
