John Tabatabai - Different Gravy
I was counting chips on the far side of the room, when Marc Goodwin came back from John 'Kunkuwap' Tabatabai's table, shaking his head and muttering about his being 'different gravy.' He (J.T.) has continued to play nearly every hand dealt, and in the past 10 minutes only has gone up to 36k from 15k and back to 10k again. The hand which shook up Goodwin (and some guy on the rail who literally stood in my way so he could fill me in on the amazing details) involved John re-raising preflop, and betting away on all the streets with . "Queen Five!" The gobsmacked spectator repeated. "And he hit a full house! Queens full of Fives!"
Just then I spotted the youngster getting involved again, this time against Gerald Kane, in Betfair regalia, but distinctive by virtue of the fact that he's also sporting kilt and sporran. Kunkuwap had been raised from 1,600 to 4k on a flop of and considered for a while before calling. The turn brought the and some trouble for Tabatabai as he called Kane's all in with only to find he'd been up against for the flopped set. No help on the river and J.T.'s stack is at its lowest ebb of the day.
