Elvis Has Left the Building

Thank you very much
Thank you very much
It pained me to write that terrible pun, but I had to. You would have done the same, surely?

Anyhow, British poker veteran Bruce 'Elvis' Atkinson who, would you Adam and Eve it, moonlights as an Elvis impersonator whenever he can, has just bitten the dust.

I am unable to confirm the pre-flop action, but by the time we reached the {2-Hearts}{10-Spades}{2-Diamonds} flop, there was already over 2k in the pot.

Bruce, who was in the small blind, bet out 1.5k, which Erik Joergensen quickly called.

The turn came a {Q-Hearts} and Bruce pushed all-in for 5k, a bet which again was called in double quick speed.

It took about a lifetime for them to turn over their hands, but after Bruce had asked "What have you got?" for the umpteenth time, Erik finally announced that he had two pair, perhaps confident that he was well in front and trying to make out that his hand included the pair on the board.

After Erik revealed {Q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}, Bruce, now standing over the table, said, "Oh well, I've got two pair two" and flipped over {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}.

With Erik looking frustratingly dejected, Bruce coolly added, "You need to improve."

"I know," replied Erik.

And improve he did, the {10-Hearts} river inducing a gasp from onlookers, attracted the presence of the camera men and leaving Bruce as dumbfounded as the real Elvis being told there were no burgers left.
