Ivo Donev Doubles Through Phil Ivey

Ivo Donev
Ivo Donev
Stud:

Ivey ({J-Spades} {5-Spades}) {8-Spades} {J-Diamonds} {5-Hearts} {3-Hearts} (?)

Donev ({A-Hearts}) ({A-Clubs}) {10-Spades} {5-Clubs} {2-Hearts} {A-Diamonds} ({K-Diamonds})

Sherkhan Farnood brought it in with the {4-Diamonds}, Phil Ivey completed, Ivo Donev raised, Farnood folded and Ivey called. On fourth street Ivey check-raised Donev and got a call. Fifth street brought another bet from Ivey, a raise from Donev, a reraise from Ivey, and a call from Donev. On sixth Donev made the high board and led out, Ivey raised, Donev reraised all in and Ivey called.

Donev turned up trip aces, besting Ivey's jacks and fives. Ivey couldn't boat up on seventh street and Donev dragged the pot, doubling his stack as we went to our first break.

Ivey On a Roll

Razz:

Phil Ivey seems to be getting more cards than Hallmarks today, or at least it would appear that way as he seems to be involved in almost every hand since being whittled down to one table.

His last encounter was against Ivo Donev, the Chess Master flat-calling every street with {6-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} showing against Ivey's {A-Clubs}{7-Spades}{3-Hearts}{6-Hearts}, before folding on 6th street.

Ivey appears to be on a rampage at the moment and has increased his stack to 205,000. He currently sits in second place.

Lawrence Razzle-Dazzles Ivey

Razz:

Ivey (X) (X) {2-?} {Q-?} {8-?} {5-?} (X)

Lawrence (X) (X) {8-?} {10-?} {5-?} {2-?} (X)

Mark Gregorich had the bring-in with the {Q-Hearts}, Phil Ivey completed, Spencer Lawrence called and Gregorich folded. Lawrence led at Ivey on fourth, fifth, and sixth streets and was called each time. On seventh, Lawrence led again, but Ivey folded, and Lawrence raked in the pot.

Ivey Busts the Bullets

Omaha 8:

On the final hand of the round, Mark Gregorich raised it up from the button and Phil Ivey defended in the big blind.

After both players checked the {9-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} flop, Gregorich called two bets on the {5-Diamonds} turn and {8-Clubs} river before finding his aces out-gunned by Ivey's flopped full house, {K-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{9-Spades}.

Gregorich now on around 80,000.

Ivey Scoops Farnood

What, aces are good?
What, aces are good?
Omaha 8:

Sherkhan Farnood opened for a raise, Phil Ivey three-bet and Farnood called. The flop was {Q-Hearts} {6-Clubs} {3-Clubs}. Farnood checked, Ivey bet, Farnood raised and Ivey called. The turn brought the {10-Diamonds}. Farnood led out and Ivey called. The river was the {J-Hearts} and both players checked.

Farnood's {A-Hearts} {Q-Spades} {5-Hearts} {2-Spades} fell to Ivey's {A-Spades} {A-Diamonds} {7-?} {4-?} and he scooped the pot with his pair of aces.

Farnood Scoops

Omaha 8:

On a flop of {2-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}, Jeff Duvall led out for 4,000, Sherkhan Farnood made it 8,000 and Duvall called.

Turn = {A-Diamonds}

Both players checked.

River = {5-Clubs}

Duvall bet out 8,000, Farnood called.

Duvall showed {3-Spades}{A-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{K-Spades}, but Farnood flipped {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{3-Clubs} to scoop with a low to the six and top two for the high.

Where Are the Ivey Fans?

Omaha 8:

Jeff Lisandro limped in, Sherkhan Farnood completed the small blind and Phil Ivey checked his option. The flop was {K-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds} {2-Spades}. Farnood led out, Ivey raised, Lisandro folded and Farnood called. The turn brought the {J-Hearts}, eliciting a check from Farnood and a bet from Ivey. Farnood gave up his hand and Ivey won the pot.

Sensing too little excitement from the rail for Ivey, TD Jack Effel got on the mic.

"No cheers for Phil, here?" he asked.

"I think everyone's bet against him!" joked Media Director Nolan Dalla.

"Really?" said Ivey, turning around to greet Dalla with a sly smile.

Duvall Lays It Down

Hold'em:

I caught up with the action on the turn, Ivo Donev check-calling a bet of 8,000 from Jeff Duvall on a {3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{5-Spades}{4-Diamonds} board. On the {9-Hearts} river, however, it was the Chess Master who became the aggressor, leading out for 8,000 to take the pot.
